Welcome to Bootleather Border Collies. We are located in Southwest Oklahoma in the town of Altus. My name is Kevin Law. I have been involved with Border Collies for 30 some odd years having aquired my first dog at the ripe old age of 11. I have used my dogs in every imaginable situation on every class of livestock. I have been involved in all aspects of the livestock industry, cow/calf,stocker cattle,feeder cattle,ewe/lamb,feeder lambs and goats,stocker lambs and goats. I have run in Sheep and Cattle trials for over 30 years. Having run in the National Finals on several occasions. At the present I am semi retired and training dogs full time.
I have dogs for sale most all of the time. Dogs vary in their amount of training and experience. I usually have more available than listed on the Dogs for Sale page of this website. If you don't see the type of dog you're looking for give me a call.
Pups I don't advertise pups for sale. I have pups on occasion but I usually keep the entire litter and start them myself. However if a pup is what you are interested in please contact me and I will be more than happy to sale you one or give you the names of reputable breeders who sell pups. Puppy price is $350
Started Dogs Dogs know their left and right flank commands, stop and call off. This is in a round pen or out in the open for a short distance. Price of started dogs range from $800-$1000
Well Started Dogs Dogs know their left and right flank commands,stop,call off and have an outrun of at least 100 yards. Dogs at this stage of training will have been started driving. Price of Well Started dogs range from $1000-$1200
Trained Dogs Dogs know their left and right flanks, stop and call off. Will outrun to a distance of at least 200 yards and drive for short distances. All dogs at this stage of training will be able to stay on the back side with you and take one side or the other and help you drive. Trained dog prices range from $1500-$1800
Fully Trained Dogs Dogs know all of their commands and are capable of outruns of 400 yards or more and able to drive livestock any distance required. Full trained dogs start at $2000
Prices vary according to what level of training the dog is at and also what classes of livestock the dog will work
